For all external documentation (paper or digital copies) that need to be housed in the AlayaCare software, there is the ability to save the referral under the appropriate Patient Profile. For files existing in a paper format, they will need to be scanned and saved on the local drive and/or desktop, where digital versions can simply be uploaded from the current location. The following steps walk through the process of saving and uploading a file to a Patient File.
Step 1: Open Attachments section from the client's Care Documentation tab

Step 2: Upload Attachments
Any external documentation can be uploaded and stored within the system. Examples may include physician order forms, pre-existing paper documentation, educational resources, etc. There are 2 ways of uploading an attachment to a patient's profile.
Selecting file from a location on your local drive
To select the file you wish to upload, click on the "Upload file here" button, then select the desired file.
Drag and drop feature
In addition to uploading a file from the local drive and/or desktop, there is also the ability to "drag and drop" the file into the correct folder, directly from to file's location.
When a file is successfully uploaded to the 'Attachments' tab, the file will appear, displaying when any modifications occurred, and specify the type of file that has been uploaded. In order to modify it or remove it, select the arrow and the desired action.
