For agencies in Ontario, Canada, we recommend updating your billing workflows to the latest CHRIS/HPG functionality in AlayaCare Cloud. This article outlines how to make the transition.

To enable this workflow for your agency or to ask for more information, please create a support ticket.

Background

Within our help content, any mentions of “LHIN” or “HCCSS” refer to former names of what is now called Ontario Health atHome, which supports and facilitates access to home care services.

CHRIS and HPG are both tools used within Ontario Health atHome for managing home care and healthcare information.

You may also come across references to "V1" (version 1) and "V2" (version 2) in our help content. Think of V1 as legacy and V2 as the latest CHRIS/HPG billing functionality.

Features

Integration with CHRIS/HPG

The integration between AlayaCare Cloud and HPG remains unchanged, so your agency will still be able to create invoices, send them to HPG, receive reconciliation, make invoice adjustments, and send resubmissions directly from AlayaCare Cloud to HPG.

Pre-billing check

The Billable Item Management feature provides a centralized solution for completing billing adjustments, reviewing, editing, and finalizing billable items before generating invoices.

Manage invoices

You can apply filters and make bulk selections to send, regenerate, delete, revise, or void invoices.

Detailed transition guides

Please take a look at the attachments below this article for further support.

  • The CHRIS/HPG Transition Guide is a step-by-step guide on updating your workflow.
  • The Workflow Comparison shows what your workflow looks like before and after upgrading.
  • The UAT Test Referrals guide explains how to use test referrals created in your agency’s UAT environment and the new Billing Frequencies concept, which is crucial to the workflow.

Good to know

CHRIS/HPG and Enhanced Billing

The current CHRIS/HPG functionality uses the same workflow as our enhanced billing feature. If your agency already uses the CHRIS/HPG feature but also uses the legacy billing feature for other aspects of billing, you can streamline your workflow by transitioning to enhanced billing so that you are not using two different workflows. For example, if you use the legacy billing feature for private pay, you can switch to enhanced billing because it allows private pay as well.
