The family portal allows your clients and family member to have access to specific information about their care and your agency.
1. Setup your Family Portal
From any page go to Settings > CMS Content
Then click on Family Portal to access the different versions of your portal.
Either edit your current family portal (1), a create a new version of it (2)
Edit the English content of the Home page of your family portal.
You can use either the formatting tool (1), or directly use HTML markups (2) to define the layout of your home page.
You can add external links, images, and format the text the way you want on your home page.
Once you're happy with home page, save it.

2. Grant Access to the Family Portal
From the Client profile you want to give access to, go to Coordinatation (1), then Portal Access (2).
To grant access to someone about this client, click on the "Grant Access" button (3).
Define the user first name and last name, as well as their credentials:
- Email address: will as the username to login
- Password and Confirm password
- Type of Role (See permission section at the end of this article)
- Make sure to grant access
3. Define Permission to Clients and Family Members
Permissions for these users are managed the same way you manage permissions for Care Workers, Coordinators, Supervisors, etc.
Go to Settings > Roles/Permissions.
Open the permissions for either Patient or Family, then enable/disable for the following permissions:
- Live Dashboard: Home page you defined on Step 1, plus the eventual Telehealth Dashboard if you are using our Remote Patient Monitoring App
- View Daily Shift Reports: Visit Reports
- View Client Reports: Reports filled during the visit, and that were approved in the system
- View RPM Reports: Reports generated by the Remote Patient Monitoring App every time the flow is completed by the client
- View Invoices
- View Schedules: View a list of visits for the client, per week
- View Assigned Employees: View the list of employees manually assigned to the clients, as well as employees that recently visited the client.
4. Use the Family Portal
The login page is the same as for any other users of AlayaCare: {AgencyName}.alayacare.{ca/com}
The home page contains the content you defined when setting up your portal.
