Daylight Savings Time in North America is scheduled to end on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at 2:00 am local time. Please note that the End Time of Visits scheduled to occur during the 2:00 am to 3:00 am window on November 3rd will automatically be moved up an hour in order to maintain the same Quantity of hours for the Visit. For example, if a Visit is scheduled to occur from 7:00 pm on Saturday until 7:00 am on Sunday, the End Time of the Visit will be changed to 6:00 am on November 3rd so that the Visit Quantity remains 12 hours.
If Use Service Duration is unchecked for a single Visit that is scheduled to occur when Daylight Savings is beginning/ending, the Visit Start and End Times will not be readjusted by an hour to account for Daylight Savings Time.
If your agency would prefer to keep the scheduled End Time and bill for the extra hour, you will need to make changes to any impacted Visits in advance. To identify which scheduled Visits will be affected, you can create a report in Data Exploration using the Visit Cube. After adding a new DE report and selecting Visit as the Report Type, add the following filters: Visit Start Date includes 11-02-2019 and Visit End Date excludes 11-02-2019 and 11-04-2019.
Next, add the following Rows and Measures: Branch Name, Visit ID, Client Full Name, Employee Full Name, Visit Start Day, Visit End Day, Visit Start Time, Visit End Time, and Visit Scheduled Hours Sum.
You can use the resulting report to identify the Visits that will be affected and may need to be modified depending on your agency's preferred method of handling Daylight Savings.
Please note that if your agency/branch is located in a timezone that does not observe Daylight Savings Time, this behaviour will not apply as long as the correct timezone is selected in AlayaCare.
