In order to generate the HCP claim, HCP revenue transfer and HCP income sale transactions in AlayaCare, an invoice must be generated.

Although invoices are not sent to Medicare for Home Care Packages, an invoice will exist in AlayaCare that can be referenced to check the amounts that are created for each of the above transaction types listed.

Once invoices have been generated, you will see that an Invoice has been generated for each Home Care Package client with the invoicing model HCP. This invoice contains all of the invoice items that will create HCP claim and HCP revenue transfer transactions when this invoice is marked as sent.

When viewing this invoice in AlayaCare you will see that it is broken into three sections: Visits, Premiums, and Income.

HCP Revenue Transfer

The line items under Visits and Premiums are the items that represent the HCP Revenue Transfer amount for that client, i.e. the sum of these two sections equals the amount that an organisation can recognise as revenue.

In the example below, once this invoice has been marked as Sent in AlayaCare and a subledger is exported you will see 7 entries that are “moving” a total of $350 from the Liability account of the HCP funder to the Revenue account of the bill code linked to the visits. The client account balance for this client will be reduced by $350.

HCP Claim

The line items under Income are the items that represent the HCP claim amount for that client,  i.e. the sum of this section equals the amount that an organisation would expect to receive from Medicare.

In the example below, once this invoice has been marked as Sent in AlayaCare the client account balance will increase by $1,329.80 as this is the amount of money that an organisation would expect to receive after lodging their claim with Medicare.

If the amount received is different, a debit or credit adjustment can be entered when the claims are reconciled.

HCP Income Sale

A second invoice will also be generated with the invoicing model client individual. This invoice contains all of the invoice items that will create HCP income sale transactions when marked as sent.

In the example below, once this invoice has been marked as sent in AlayaCare the client account balance will increase by $209.84 as this is the amount of money that an organisation would expect to receive from the client for their contribution.
