Understanding feature flags

The feature flags in Settings > Features allow system administrators to enable and disable certain features depending on an organization's needs. The feature flags currently available in production environments are listed below.

Please note that when turning feature flags on or off, you must log out and log back in for the changes to take effect.

Customer Zone

This feature flag controls client groups under the clients menu.

Note that it should be disabled if you are using the group associations and group management features.

Equipment and Supplies

This feature flag enables the equipment and supplies module. For U.S. clients, this flag must be enabled in order for information to populate under line 14 DME and Supplies of the 485.

Equipment and Supplies Billing

This feature flag is intended for Ontario clients using the LHIN integration to bill for equipment and supplies.

Status Notifications

This feature flag controls the sending of notifications to a client's care team when a client's status changes. When the flag is turned off, status notifications will not be sent.

Automated Provider Reports

This feature flag should be used by Ontario clients who need to send automated provider reports (APRs) to the LHIN. This flag must be enabled to create provider reports and send them to the LHIN.

Employee Punch Card Serial

This feature flag no longer controls functionality in AlayaCare and is scheduled for deprecation.

Offline mode

This feature flag enables offline mode for the AlayaCare care worker mobile application.

SMS notifications 

This feature flag must be enabled in order to send SMS notifications related to visit offers to employees from production environments.

Secure password policy

This is a feature flag that can or should be considered by users who do not use SSO ("Single sign on") to log into ACC. Refer to this article for more details on the secure password policy.

Biometric authentication

This feature flag enables the ability for users of the mobile application to use fingerprint or face recognition to access the mobile app.

Notification testing

This feature flag must be enabled in order to test the sending of visit offer notifications to employees in non-production (staging, UAT, training, preview, etc.) environments.

Group dashboard system

This feature flag must be enabled in order for field workers to log in to the AlayaCare web application. It controls the landing page displayed to field workers.

This feature flag should always be left on. No further configuration of the feature is required.

Call-In Punch System

This feature flag enables AlayaCare's interactive voice recognition (IVR) system which allows care providers to clock in using the telephone.

This feature is configured under settings>phone timekeeping. To learn more about configuration, please see How do I configure Phone Timekeeping (IVR)?

Employee Scheduling

This feature flag controls the schedules menu. Without this feature enabled, you will not be able to access the all-client schedule, all-employee schedule, workforce management, or scheduling settings.

Post orders

This feature flag no longer controls functionality in AlayaCare and is scheduled for deprecation.

Job dispatch center

This feature flag enables the tasks module in the web application as well as the care worker mobile application.

ID control feature

This feature flag no longer controls functionality in AlayaCare and is scheduled for deprecation.

Browser reports

This feature flag enables the functionality needed to fill out electronic forms in the AlayaCare web application.

This feature should always be on.

Funding blocks

This feature flag controls the funding blocks feature. If your organization needs to be able to add funding blocks to client services, this feature should be turned on.

The option to add funding blocks will not be available when this feature is turned off.

Static landing page

This feature flag allows you to enable the quick actions page under the home tab as the new landing page instead of the live dashboard (see image below).

Note that if you choose to use this landing page, you will need to click the dashboard tile or live dashboard tab to review the dashboard instead of seeing it as soon as you log in.

Payor Invoicing

This feature flag enables the new billing module. Note that specific payor programs must be configured separately for you by your AlayaCare team.

Beta invoices generation

This feature flag improves the backend speed of invoice generation background jobs. It should always be on.

Electronic billing integration

This feature flag enables the electronic billing module in AlayaCare. Once the feature is turned on you will see the electronic billing summary tab under billing in accounting and have the ability to create electronic billing payors in the system.

Virginia EVV

This feature flag controls the sending of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data for Virginia Medicaid only.

Please note that the major new EVV feature released in December 2020 must be specially enabled for your organization by AlayaCare and cannot be controlled through the feature flags in the user interface.

DEX Grant Management

Applicable to Australian clients only, this feature flag controls functionality related to grant management.

BPAY

Applicable to Australian clients only, this feature flag allows organizations to import BPAY payments into AlayaCare.

Tambla Integration

This feature flag must be enabled in order to use the Tambla payroll integration.

Daily Activities

This feature flag controls daily activities (ADLs), which are scheduled for deprecation following the migration of all clients to care plan and forms 2.0.

If you are using the new care plan module, this feature flag can be turned off.

Visit offers

This feature flag enables the visit offers functionality in the AlayaCare mobile application.

Accounting Exports- External Integration

This feature flag allows organizations to send accounting exports (flat files) to an S3 bucket.

Note that an AWS bucket must be already set up to use this feature.

Billing Aggregate Exports- External Integration

Payroll Exports- External Integration

This feature flag allows organizations to send payroll exports (flat files) to an S3 bucket.

Home Care Package AUS

Applicable to Australian clients only, this feature flag controls functionality related to billing and care planning for Home Care Packages (HCP).

Beta transportation

This feature flag controls a custom beta transportation module. It is not currently available to clients in North America.

Attendance Dashboard

This feature flag enables the attendance dashboardWhen this feature flag is turned off, the attendance option will be hidden under dashboard menu.

Note that you will still be able to access the attendance dashboard page from the clocked in via mobile KPI even when this feature flag is turned off.

 Beta

This feature flag is a legacy flag that should always be left on.

Beta Single Sign On

This feature flag relates to the original version of Single Sign On (SSO).

Cognito Single Sign On

This feature flag should be enabled if your organization is using Amazon Cognito Single Sign On (SSO).

Beta multi time zones

This feature flag makes it possible to handle multiple time zones within a single organization.

AlayaCare intake

This feature flag controls the intake functionality for Ontario clients available through the LHIN integration.

LHIN Integration

This feature flag controls the LHIN integration used by Ontario clients.

Telehealth

This feature flag controls the telehealth dashboard feature.

Video conference

This feature flag enables the previous video conferencing feature available under coordination on the client profile. The virtual care module has replaced this functionality.

This feature flag should be enabled for Ontario clients who need to complete and submit interRAI assessments.

Attachments

This feature flag enables the attachments tabs on the client and employee profiles

Data migration

This feature flag must be enabled in order for data migrations to be completed successfully.

Data Exploration

This feature flag enables AlayaCare's reporting module, Data Exploration.

Data Exploration 2.0

This feature flag enables the latest version of AlayaCare's reporting module, Data Exploration 2.0.

Schedule optimization

This feature flag controls a scheduling optimization feature that is currently being revamped and is not currently in use.

Supplier

This feature flag enables the suppliers and expense reconciliation/accrual features.

Invoice & payroll

This feature flag enables the billing and payroll modules. Note that this feature refers to the old billing cycles feature and not the new billing

Invoice & payroll – adjustments

This feature flag enables the functionality to allow for post-period adjustments to payroll runs.

Budget

This feature flag enables the budgets module. The functionality is specific to the Australian market.

Cost centres

This feature flag enables cost centres. When this feature is turned off, you will not be able to add cost centres to entities.

Financial period

This feature enables financial periods for your organization.

Direct debit AUS

Applicable for Australian clients only, this feature enables the functionality to bulk create payments for clients who have been preauthorized for direct debit.

Billing by end time of visits

This feature flag enables the functionality to bill by a visit's clocked or scheduled end time instead of start time. This functionality is specifically intended to address use cases in the Australian market.

Bulk payment generic upload

This feature flag enables the functionality to allow you to import payments in bulk for invoices.

Unavailability creating single modified visits

If this feature flag is enabled, when a new unavailability is created for an employee, the system will modify the employee's scheduled visits so that any recurring visits that conflict with the unavailability are broken from the recurrence when setting them to vacant.

Progress notes

This feature flag enables the progress notes feature on the web application.
