If your organization uses SSO (single sign on) to control access to the AlayaCare mobile app, users must be authenticated through an external identity provider (IdP) when logging in or out of the mobile app.
Note that before you can use SSO, your organization must have the SSO Cognito feature flag enabled and the SSO feature fully configured for use with the mobile app.
You will need to complete the following basic steps to log in to the mobile app using SSO:
1. To log in to the app or renew your session, select login with SSO.
2. You will be redirected to a sign-in page provided by your organization’s external IdP in the browser of your mobile device. Enter any login information requested to proceed.
This page will look different depending on the IdP that your organization is using.
3. Once your credentials have been authenticated by the IdP, you will be logged in to AlayaCare and redirected to the mobile app.
When logging out of the AlayaCare mobile app, you will be taken back to the external IdP in your mobile browser to complete the logout process.
Important note about SSO on Android devices
If you are using SSO on an Android mobile device and your organization is using Google as its external IdP, you may need to complete additional steps for SSO to work properly on your device.
If you are accessing a personal Google account from the same device that you are using the AlayaCare mobile app, you must first add the Google account that you will use to access AlayaCare to your device’s settings. If you do not complete this step, when you select login with SSO the IdP (Google) will try to authenticate you using your personal Google account. This will result in an error and prevent you from accessing AlayaCare.
To add your professional account to your Android device, go to settings and tap users & accounts.
Scroll down and select add an account.
Enter the email address and password for the account that you will use to access the AlayaCare mobile app.
Once you have completed this step, when you select login with SSO from the AlayaCare mobile app, you will then have the option to select your work account or your personal account.
Selecting the correct account will allow the IdP to authenticate you and log you in to the AlayaCare mobile app.
