Destroying a discharged profile
AnsweredIs there opportunity to develop a process that will delete/destroy a client profile after 10 years completely off the environment? Typically with charting platforms whether paper or digital, a file will get destroyed after being achieved for x amount of years. My concern is that as our clientele list grows there will be a lot of filtering and our organization is required to destroy records after a period of time. Thoughts?

Hi all,
I had a chance to speak to the team and wanted to circle back to you on this. As you know, there is currently no way of deleting records from the system however, as Lorna Chisholm mentioned, that will obviously make things difficult for you all over time as client lists grow and it becomes harder to search for active clients.
The team is already aware of the need for a full revamp of the global search function and once this is complete that should solve a lot of these issues as discharged employees will automatically be filtered out. For capacity reasons, this is not currently on the roadmap, but it's something that's definitely on the team's radar and will be addressed in future planning sessions. Please keep an eye out on our What's New section for future announcements.
Regarding the actual destruction of medical records, this is something that will need to be investigated further as different geographical areas have different requirements for retention, but thanks Lorna for bringing this up.
Thanks again to you all for your input!
Alex
