    Hi Harry Sofas,

The data team have had a chance to test this out and it seems that it is a limitation of Looker that you can't save Merged Explores as a Look, however you can save them to a dashboard. To pull the data you want you would export the entire dashboard to CSV format. This will generate a folder of CSV files and you should easily be able to pull the one you need. Hope this helps!

    Hi Harry Sofas,

I just spoke with the team and they were wondering if you could please provide some more context so they can better respond - can you please clarify what the blocker is/pinpoint how this is holding back operations? Which particular explores you're merging and why? And what are the business reports you are trying to satisfy?

Once I hear back, I can follow up with them again.

    Thanks!

    Hi Alex,

Happy to provide context, but providing what sounds like a business case does seem odd as merging explores is functionality that is present in the platform albeit not seemingly complete.

The ability to merge multiple explore/cubes was from our perspective the major drawcard for DE 2.0 beyond it being stable/more performant. This has been spruiked to in webinars and by local AlayaCare resources.

Can you please clarify what the blocker is/pinpoint how this is holding back operations

We publish a suite of reports to our network which are then accessed as standard, and dependent on the skill of the end of user copied for modification.

If we cannot save the look this becomes problematic. It's not 'holding back operations' however it would drastically improve the ability to manage care workers, suppliers and clients.

Which particular explores you're merging and why?

And what are the business reports you are trying to satisfy?

The crux of merging the explores is to report on zeros/exceptions.

It is a basic requirement for most of our reports to pinpoint certain data sets. This can be applied to most our current reports which include hours, offers, skills, groups and tags.

Discussing with our operations manager in the past he has wished to merge the following cubes in DE 1.0 which will also be the case in DE 2.0. Visit, Service, Client, Employee, Offer Response. One report he particularly had in mind is Offer Response with Visit Cube to provide a report showing which visits have a response and which done.

    Thanks,

    Harry

    Hi Harry,

Thank you for the additional context! I've passed it along to the team and they are investigating. Hope to have an update for you soon.
