Service History extra data vs. 1.0

Hi I noticed when pulling the Service History in DE 2.0 there are extra status lines when compared to the same data pull in DE 1.0. The overall pattern (e.g. active - waitlist - hold - dc) is the same in both but DE 2.0 seems to break the active period into smaller "chunks" than DE 1.0 and I was wondering why.
