New medications for a client can be added on AlayaCare's care worker mobile app via Medication, or through an advanced component in a form.
Medication - View Medications
You can access the Medication feature in Care Delivery through a client’s profile from a visit, or from the caseload.
You can then see the client's list of medications. With each medication, the app offers a summary of the Medication Name, Brand Name (if any), Ingredient Strength, Dosage Form, Route, and Frequency. The summary card will also display a PRN Reason (if any). You can also see the Start Date and End Date of the medication, and whether or not the medication is Assisted. If the medication is marked as Narcotic or High Alert, an alert icon is shown.
The medication list can be filtered by Medication Name, Medication Statuses, Routes, Infusion Routes Only, Frequencies, Administration Types, Start Date/Time, End Date/Time, Discrepancy Types, as well as High Alerts or Narcotics. By default, the list is filtered by Status, and only show medications with Active, Not Taken, on Hold, Pending, or Unknown statuses.
You can click on each medication to see more information.
If applicable, you can also review the Administration History of this medication.
Add A New Medication
To add a new medication, click on "+" icon on the Medication Profile of the client. A form will then be displayed, as shown below.
To start, choose your Medication Source. If you are in the U.S., the Medication Database might be available for you; refer to this article for more information. You can also set up your library; refer to this article for more information. Otherwise, you can fill in the fields manually via Custom Medication.
After filling in all the required fields, you can now submit the form. Once you save this, a new medication will be saved for the client. Please note that this Medication Feature is not supported in offline mode.
Medication 2.0 - Advanced Component in Forms
Alternatively, you can create a form with a medication advanced component on the web app component by adding Care > Medication in a form builder. More information about adding advanced components in a form can be found here.
Once the form is published, it can be accessed through the Form Feature of a client or under Service Tasks, if linked to a visit on the mobile app.
After opening the form, you can add new medications by clicking on the “Add Medication” button on the advanced component. You can add a new medication manually using the Custom Medication form. Note that libraries are not supported in the form feature.
By filling out all the required fields and saving the medication, you can see a summary of the medication. Before submitting the form, you can edit or delete this medication. You can also add another medication.
Once the form is approved on the web app, the medications are posted under the Medication Profile of the client.
